The Lullabye Of Broadway: Opening Night on 42nd Street

Naughty, bawdy, gaudy, sporty, Forty-Second Street!

A production of Metropolitan Entertainment in association with Ghost Light Films, this PBS program celebrated the Broadway revival of the toe-tapping musical, which opened at a theater on 42nd Street (now the Hilton Theatre, then known as the Ford Center for the Performing Arts) in May of 2001. The documentary explored the relationship between the film 42nd Street from 1933, the stage musical 42nd Street as originally produced by David Merrick in 1980, the revival of the musical, and the revival of the actual 42nd Street itself. Directed by Ron de Moraes, Written by Michael Kantor, Produced by Jeff Rowland and Allen Newman, Executive Producer Tony Adams.
